Academic Program

 

The program of education spans the period of three trimestres a year. Each one includes four courses, one of which will be delivered by an international guest teacher.

Each course can also be taken individually, without the requirement of inscription for the whole program of education.

Courses are delivered in Spanish, except for the visiting artist course.

We are designing a special summer course in English for 2010.

Soma Tuesdays

We have an event at SOMA every Tuesday at 800 pm. Events are free and open to the general public.

. March 16: Artist talk with artist, psiquiatrist and philosopher Gabriel Loebell Herberstein

. March 23:  Artist talk with spanish artist Karmelo Bermejo

April 6: Artist talk with artist Ariel Orozco

. April 13: Panel Discussion organised by Juan Carlos Reyna: Traumatic Nationalism (The Mexican Art of Disruption)

• March 18 : Editorial MOHO presents novels by Kyzza Terrazas and Rodrigo Márquez Tizano with music by guest bands  Los Pellejos, Amandititita, Tepepunk and and Ali Guaguis

 

Residency Program


Soma has two residence spaces:

The first residency space, is a furnished room and private bathroom and is intended for  residence periods of up to three months. Long term residents can also request the use of a fantastic studio area located in the Soma building.

The second residency space  is a furnished room and private bathroom. It is intended  for residence periods of up to 15 days.

We offer our residency space to artists, curators and critical theorists from around the world.

The residents will be invited to give artist talks to the general public, and in some cases to deliver courses as part of the Educational Program.
